Come and Get It

Andrea Leeds in an original publicity still for Come and Get It (1936).  Andrea was born in Butte, Montana, and had 25 acting credits, from an uncredited bit in 1933, to 1940.  In 1938 her fiancee died and Andrea lost interest in acting.  She gave up acting completely in 1940 when she married a horse breeder, raising a family and supporting the family business.  They were married until his death in 1962.  Andrea died of cancer in 1984, at the age of 69.

Andrea Leeds in a publicity still for Come and Get It (1936).   She is shown out of costume, not as Barney Glasgow’s daughter Evvie.  Andrea was born in Butte, Montana and had 25 acting credits, from an uncredited bit in 1933, to 1940.  She was nominated as best supporting actress in Stage Door (1937), playing opposite to the likes of Katharine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers, Lucille Ball, Eve Arden and Ann Miller.  She also had an uncredited bit in My Man Godfrey as a scavenger hunting socialite.

Andrea Leeds as Evvie Glasgow in a publicity still for Come and Get It (1936).  She was daughter to Edward Arnold and sister of Joel McCrae.  Andrea was born in Butte, Montana, and had 25 acting credits in her career, from an uncredited bit in 1933, to 1940.  Andrea had an uncredited bit in My Man Godfrey, and was one of the starving actresses trying to get work in Stage Door, for which she was nominated for an Oscar.  Andrea married a wealthy sportsman with a string of racing stables and retired to raise a family.
